This, just in from Geoff Wheeler:

It is with much regret that I have had to cancelBig Screentime this year due entirely to ill health. I have been in and out of hospital since november, they have now diagnosed my problems, but I am still in constant pain, which they tell me will be 7/8 weeks before I hopefully will be pain free. With the drugs I am taking including Morphine I am unable to drive ,lift or carry anything so NO 16mm projectorsor films. I have contacted Keith Wilton & Phil Sheard they are both going to put it on their web sites, any help you can give will be appreciated.

Hopefully I may see you at the Ealing convention in October. Kind Regards Geoff

As Geoff is not a member of the Forum, I spoke to him on the 'phone to tell him of our members' concern for his health.

He says he is slowly improving, but still on various medication. He has had many offers of help to set up his Tadley Big Screen Time, carrying projectors up the stairs to the projection room, putting out the trestle tables, running out the mains connections, etc.

However, ultimately, it would be his overall responsibility, and he doesn't feel that he can do it this year.

He has held off as long as he could before making the final decision.

I told him that we all wish him well for the future.
