After considerable uncertainty regarding whether it would appear on Super 8, this scope trailer is now available from Classic Home Cinema, giving collectors the rare pleasure of putting something less than a year old through their projectors. It has some spectacular action but the grim, downbeat mood emphasises how desperate the plight of those resisting the onslaught of the machines is. It's difficult to evaluate how good a job the German lab has done, as the colours are cold and muted, but anyone who has seen the feature won't be surprised by this. It's impressively sharp, though, and it was interesting to see that in this respect it convincingly beat a 1980s scope 'Thunderball' trailer that I ran immediately beforehand, which I've always considered a good print. The sound was a little disappointing - not providing the usual clarity that I'd associate with Classic - and it's not always easy to understand the snatches of dialogue. If anyone else has a copy, I'd be interested to know if this also applies to yours. The trailer runs for two minutes and the captions and titles reveal that it is printed from a German master. I'm sure that collectors who already have trailers for the first three 'Terminator' films will consider it a must. I have this trailer too. The quality is consistant with the latest trialer releases from Germany, and the picture quality is VERy good on these trailers (Star Trek, Terminator 4, Return of the Sith, King Kong}.
I bought mine through The Reel Image (Steve Osborne} here in the U.S., and he sells them re-recorded in STEREO, and the sound is really fantastic! The only exception being Star Trek, where it seems to be recorded a little lower, with a little too much bass, but still sounds great when volume is adjusted up.
I agree with you Adrien about the color quality on T-4, but like you said, thats how it looked at the theater too.
P.S.- Just got "Batman-The Dark Night" trailer, so I'll post a review as soon as I get a chance to watch it.
