Now this is a great little one reeler from Castle films and still with good colours, i bought this one way way back and for a couple of pounds due to a single line which really is of no bother at all. The sound is excellent and the music is great. Directed by Dick Lundy and released in 1947, i found this little bit of info tonight Overture to William Tell’ is better than the erratic ‘Musical Moments from Chopin‘, the first of the Musical Miniatures. But still it’s only moderately inspired, and pales when compared to that other concert cartoon using the same music by Gioachino Rossini, ‘The Band Concert‘ (1935).
Bill, hope this helps you with a bit more information.
In this Walter Lantz Colour Cartoon (production number 2326), Wally Walrus, masquerading as famed orchestra leader, Sir Wally Walrus, mounts the podium to conduct the orchestra, and his troubles only end when the cartoon does, with the orchestra completely destroyed. r=uploads0503&file=wallye.jpg[/IMG]
