Has anyone any experience of using high-gain screen materials (lenticular, glass-bead, 'silver', etc) for 'scope screens?

Yes, all three, but none under 20' and none over 70'.

For a small screen you shouldn't have any issues. Large screens (say bigger than 35') really need to be curved.

My worry is that, with a wide screen (full scope) there may be a problem with high-gain surfaces giving apparently varying brighness across the screen. This might be an especial problem for viewers who are off to one side of the screen.
