Looks like I am a bit late on this one.
Like you Mike, I have forgotten what I have and that means it must be time to sell some on otherwise I will turn into a collector. Shudder. [Big Grin]

BTW, Sorry Jan I have a nice imaculate print of Mr Bond....

I was very interested in some of their Fox musicals like 'Hello Dolly' and "There's No Business Like Show Business". Can anyone please tell me if they were taken from negatives or release prints ?

Thanks Dimitrios,

I've been collecting for a few years now and because I missed a lot of the titles on their first release have spent a lot of time (and money) tracking down original copies. I've also made a few friends along the way (and with today's posting [Wink] )

Thanks to the likes of Derek Simmonds and all the team at Derann, Ian (Perry's), Paul Foster, Phil (Classic Home Cinema), Barry (Independent 8), Larry (LPG), Buckingham Film Services, various collectors who've names I've long forgotten who have sold prints to me or pointed me in the direction of prints I was after, Ebay! Keith Wilton and last but not least Kevin F [Smile]

It's been fun finding the gems but my search is not over yet as there are still one or two titles I'd like to add to my collection.

And if there's anything in the 'duplicates' list anyone is interested in then drop me an email and I'll start checking the prints as I need to rationalise my collection a bit !! [Big Grin]

Tony,

For starters by knowing the source of the print you are offered. Knowing when a print was first purchased compared to the release dates published in Film For The Collector over the past years. Prints in original artwork packaging. Being offered review evaluation prints. Looking for original pre-striped copies, etc, etc. Basically doing some research and if all else fails purchase several copies and compare print quality because we all know how variable they can be! Is that print of Jaws 'Scope? When were the prints struck? Any part of it good enough for a BFCC screening??? I'm sure I can't be the only collector who'd love to get his teeth into a full length Super 8 print of Jaws.

John,

I'll have to dig it out and check as I can't recall the Aspect Ratio but if memory serves me correctly it's not up to being projected to 24foot wide! [Eek!] If it's any good I'll pass a reel to KW

To Alan Rik (PM sent also)

Alan are you still interested in INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE (Scope) as it's time to purchase it, if not I'll list it elsewhere.

Best,

Rick

Ricky,

Being as how (?) the festive season is fast approaching and there's clearly been a lot of interest in your "duplicates" list, any chance you could update it so that we all know what's still, potentially, available for sale?

Ta, Sam

John,

I finally got around to checking the FEATURE length print of JAWS I bought from Germany some time ago.

It's on 2x1200 footers, it's SCOPE [Eek!] and complete apart from the front titles which are from the digest and 'flat' [Frown]

It's not brilliant, is rather scratched but what a rare find indeed!

Unfortunately the language is German!! [Confused] but that was to be expected.
