Hi,

I was offered this title but having seen his photo I was afraid that one reel is not compleat (please see the blue reel one).

What do you think, did this three parter actually come as the photo below?

 -

What abouth the colour are they good or MGM used eastman?

Andreas, what about the German release, are they the same (came from America) in terms of colour quality?

thanks,

Hi-Winbert,

I would say that this 3 reeler is incomplete as there should be at least 330 ft of film on each reel.

Most of the MGM titles I have picked up recently have been ok in terms of colour fade.

I believe the German release is the same cut as the MGM US release.

Cheers Mark

Winbert-

It could be that the original owner had spliced the 3 x 400 foot reels together onto a 1200 foot reel, but then he, or a different owner put them back onto 400 foot reels, and didn't cut them in the right place. If the first two reels are almost full to the rim, then the third reel would likely be only around half full, like in the picture.

By the way, I have this Quo Vadis digest, and it is great! There is some fading in my print, but still very watchable.

James.
