Talking to Ged at the BFCC, I got the impression that the Savoy might be fully booked for the Blackpool weekend, or if it isn't, it probably soon will be. Therefore, if anyone planning to go to Blackpool is concerned that they might not get suitable accommodation, I'll take this opportunity to recommend the Collingwood Hotel, where I've stayed for many years. http://www.collingwoodhotel.co.uk/index.html
It's a friendly hotel just a few yards round the corner from the Savoy, and it's only £24 B&B for stays of 2 nights or more. It's usually attracts a number of film collectors, but I know that some have been lured away this year due to the remarkably good deal at the Savoy, so there should be some rooms available.
Incidentally, I've also gathered from Ged that Derann don't have many tickets left for the Saturday night dinner, so book soon if you haven't already done so.
