I've got a Eumig 824; all seems fine, but the pull down claw is damaged. the assembly is there and working, but the little needletip tooth got knocked off. I remember this happening with my old Eumig S802D when you had to switch gates from Standard 8 to Super 8 and weren't careful. Any way of getting this repaired? I'm in Chicago, if anyone knows a repair guy. Are there any home fixes? I'd love to get this working, the projector is in otherwise beautiful shape.

Hi Glenn, and welcome to the forum.
I'm afraid you are probably out of luck on this one. I do not know any satisfactory way to replace that claw pin. Maybe someone else here has some ideas.

Welcome to the 8mm Forum!

You might try International Camera Corp., 847 Jackson Blvd., Chicago IL 60607, 312-738-6320. They might not be the ones to repair your projector, but they could point you in the right direction.

Phil Johnson's excellent web site mentions them along with a few other repair services in New York & California.

Bolex still exist and they own the Eumig brand. Apparently they still carry all the spares. Bolex are in Switzerland.

To modify your post....... "they carry all the spares still available " (which is turns out to be not very much!).

They tend to be very expensive; look out for clapped-out machines to cannibalize.

There exist a special tool for replacing claw pin.
If you don´t have it, complete claw arm has to be removed from projector and claw pin replaced on a bench with some standard tools.
After that it has to be remounted into projector and adjustment of claw has to be carried out.
This is not a simple job, if you haven´t done it several times before.
But every small format projector repair gay can do the job.
