Kevin, I agree about DESTROY ALL MONSTERS, but FRANKENSTEIN'S NEW BRAIN? Not trying to throw down, but curious to know why you chose that one in particular.

Mine:
INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN (400', Ken)
THE MUMMY'S TOMB (400', U8)
THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US (200', Castle)
HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (200', Castle)
TARANTULA (200', Castle)

Edit: Ralf, you snuck in and scooped me on MELTING MAN!

I just like Frankensteins New Brain as an extract. I think Castle did a good job with the editing and shows Bela Lugosi in one of his last major roles, I just like the extract and it moves at a good pace, more so than the feature. [Smile] I like it much better than Trial Of Frankenstein! [Smile]

Hi Daniel!
My favorite digests are:
THE SCREAMING SKULL (Ken Films; too fun!)
BUCKET OF BLOOD (Ditto)
CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON-3D (400' Universal 8)
THE STING (800' Universal 8)
NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN (1200' Derann; not the best editing, but a breathtaking Scope print!)

My favorite digests are
1. The original Castle one reel Frankenstein. For great print quality and cleverness in editing ..this is hard to beat.
2. U-8's 800 foot Smokey and The Bandit. slightly soft print, but great editing makes for feeling you've never missed anything.
3. U-8 800ft Jaws--very nice editing...decent picture quality
4. The Quiller Memorandum (Walton) A real and reel sleeper..in scope with still perfect color. In 360 feet you get the sense of the feature....really a nice and repeatable reel. Scope photography very nice. super sharp
5. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein--the one reel Castle version...nice job on trying to make it make sense...and very good picture quality. I've probably shown this to more audiences over the years than any digest.

Tough question as they are all my good however thinking cap on [Roll Eyes]

bought new at the time of release

1..Ken films "Star Wars"
2..Disney 200ft extract "I Wan'na Be Like You" from Jungle book even after all those years still looks and sounds good.
3..Mickey Mouse "The First Fifty Years" Limited Silver Edition again still looks good.
4..."Where Eagles Dare" MGM 3/400ft excellent editing, really packs a punch, better than the full feature.

Second hand

5..."The NeverEnding Story" from Derann 600ft Scope.

Graham.

Salut Daniel [Wink]

It's quite difficult as there are so many finely edited digests out there, but in no particular order:

- Jaws (U8 2x400 and 200ft)
- Zombie (3x400ft UFA)
- Star Crash (2x400ft Piccolo)
- Creature from the Black Lagoon (400ft U8)
- The Fog (Derann scope 600ft)

My tops: Showboat
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Close Encounters
Dr. Zhivago (3 x 400)

I'm sure I'll add a fifth one once I discover what it is.
