Fellas.... I need advice on how to strip magnetic stripe from a print, SAFELY. The print is on polyester stock, great optical print that was striped, but didn't permanately adhere to the film. I'd like to get the stripe off (main and balance), in a safe way not to damage the print at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Greg!
The best thing you can do is send the film to avt magnetics because is a job that only they can made.

Merry christmas!

Jose.

Larry, do you know if they remove stripe that's already there? I have a print, optical print, where stripes were added, and re-recorded. Unfortunately, the stripe is flaking off, and eventually, won't work. I'm in hopes of removing the stripe, safely, and run with the optical track. I could probably do it myself, foot by foot, but would take forever.

Thanks!

I seem to remember him offering this service, but if you E-mail EVT he can answer best.

Is the stripe applied directly over the optical track? If it is I'd be concerned about the possiblity of removing it totally and without film surface damage so the optical signal would come through undistorted. I guess Nick can answer that best too.
