I have two Bolex 18-5 projectors. One is an older model that I bought in 1962, the other is a newer model with self-threading that I purchased on ebay. The older unit was sitting, unused for several decades and now the speed switch is very stiff and the lamp does not come on. In the newer unit the lamp comes on but when I try load film it keeps bunching up between the the first set of sprockets and the projector lens and tears the film. On the older unit, how do I free up the switch and change the lamp? On the self-threading unit, how do I prevent it from tearing the film?
