Are there any essentials you recommend for a first time buyer? I am not looking for anything expensive right now, something I can buy for 10 dollars or less. Any recommendations?

I am very interested in getting cartoon shorts more then anything right now.

Yeah you go for cartoon especially Tom & Jerry, you will get addicted!.. [Big Grin]

But I ask you only to buy those Tom & Jerry released by Derann or Red Fox, because they are printed on LPP or AGFA. The price will be around $15-25/each.

Otherwise you can also get much cheaper T&J on AGFA from Walton Films but most are offered on UK. T&J offered in US site are mostly on Kodak Eastman or Kodak SP which have faded now. Some titles are usually sold cheaper in UK for around GBP 5 (=$7.5) but the shipping cost will be high, unless the seller willing to send via Royal Mail Small Packet which is GBP 2 for a 200'reel.

Be careful that although you are buying from UK not all Walton will be on AGFA, you have to ask the seller, but Ebay sellers usually know nothing about it.

So the easiest ones is to contact Barry at Independent 8 or Paul Foster. Barry has so many T&J for good prices at his website.

Independent 8

Last time he has 50% discount for all cartoons, but I don't know now.

Good luck!

Lee, I think what Barry states in his website is:

quote:
3 for 2 Until 31/8/11...Lowest Price Film FREE)
Date may have been revised but the discount is not "buy one and get the second lowest cost one free!" as you mentioned but "buy 2 at normal price and get another one for free" (the free stuff must be the lowest price).

But I don't know if Barry has another deal which I am not aware.

Barry could you pls confirm, because I definitely have some titles to buy if that what Lee says.

Thanks for putting that right Winbert.

Grant, have a peep at Barry’s amazing lists with plenty of choice. You could always email him asking what T&J he has in stock? Very nice guy to buy from.
