Pat, These spools will accept Regular 8mm ONLY (or 1/4 inch Audio tape, for which they were originally designed). There is no adaptor available for using them on a Super 8 spindle. A clever machinist could probably produce a punch that would enlarge the hole to the correct profile, but I wouldn't have thought it was economical. Martin

Pat, audio reels are a tight fit for both regular and super 8 film (I just tried both). You could get it on there, but it would not be practical and surely damage the edges of the film.

Joe, Your Audio reels in the States must be different to over here... I've just tried 10 reels from 4 different manufacturers and they all have room to spare.Measured at the core, the smallest was 8.62 mm, the widest 9.06 mm. I have habitually used Audio Reels over the years when short of dedicated 8 mm reels. Martin

No room to spare here Martin and Leon, I tried SCOTCH, TDK, and RCA. They all fit, but too snug to be used for playing and rewinding film without a sticking problem. Maybe its just my reels, but the ones I tried all have tape on them and don't appear warped at all. I tried both regular & super 8 film.
