I don't know a heck of a lot about RKO, but it seems like when I was a kid, Ken Films released a bunch of silent cutdowns of RKO films like SON OF KONG and THE THING. Yet ONE MILLION B.C. somehow wound up at Castle. Did Universal control this title at one time? Anyone know why this title strayed from the rights trajectory of the others?

One Million BC wasn't an RKO release - Hal Roach through United Artists, as far as I recall. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Michael is correct. In addition to One Million B.C. and Battle of the Giants, Castle also released a couple of Hal Roach short subjects, the "Our Gang" comedies The Little Rebel and Double Trouble.
