I had one fail on me after the expected life of about 25 hrs. What was parculiar was that the filament seemed completely intact. Suspicious, I tried the bulb in another projector ... where it likewise, would not illuminate . Have you had incandescents go out where the filament seemed intact....or perhaps, the break was microscopic?

Yes the break can be to small to see. If you have an ohmmeter it will answer the question. I get the ohm (multimeter) from Harbor Freight. They cost from $3.00 to 5.00 and some times they even give them way. They work well and are easy to use. I always keep 3 or 4 on hand ,sooner or later I forget to change the setting and measure volts. SMOKE!!
