Hi everyone,

It took a slice of patience with loads of companionship to make the sound issues on my ST-1200 a thing of the past. We didn't have the energy to lubricate and screen a feature. So we can only be sure if the problem is behind us for good after we have watched a few full-features.

The pics below are explanation enough of the problem and how we think we have solved it. You can also watch a video here: http://akshaynanjangud.blogspot.com/2012/02/resolving-amplified-assembly-on-elmo-st.html . It has an outline of the guy who helped me wire the PCB.

I have been over the past couple of posts I created soliciting help to get the projector up and running. From the posts, I understand thanks are due to Steve Klare, Jon Addams, Pasquale, Dogtor, Graham Ritchie and Winbert Hutahaean. Am pretty confident that I have all names. I know I might lose sound tomorrow and this may seem like early celebration, but I may as well thank everyone when I'm feeling grateful. [Smile]

Am planning on watching Way Out West or Beast of Blood tomorrow. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks again!

PS: Does anyone have large rewinds for sale?

Akshay,

This looks like pretty challenging work and nicely done!

It's a good feeling getting a dead one to work again, isn't it?

It's not really tested on full features yet, Steve! Let me watch a few films and I'll update.

The free service manual on this forum was a huge help. With such manuals I believe many projectors can be fixed.

I'd bought five projectors for $60 on the fourth of January and this was one of them. I've only been working on the ST-1200 since. I must get to the others soon.
