This is the story.

I have several projectors which use this two type of lamp (EFP and EFR). Now I got one lamp un-boxed that all specs info which usually is written on the lamp body has been totally wiped out.

So how can I check if this lamp is 100w/12v or 150w/15v?.

Hi Winbert,

I have compared the 2 kinds of lamps to see if there is any difference that was apparent to the eye. The only thing I could see is the size of the coiled Tungsten filament. The 150w 15v lamp has a fatter & larger tungsten coil. You can see the difference when the 100w 12v lamp is held next to it.
Hope that helps you identify the unmarked lamp you have there.

Frank, what happen if I put the 15v/150w on 12v/100w projector. I knew if it is the opposite, it will burn the lamp straight away.

Will we see the same light output or 12v/100w will be brighter?

You will only see what difference there is in brightness by trying it.
But the COLOUR will not be anywhere near as White and the lamp will draw more current (Amps) so may damage the transformer.
In other words.... don't do it! Use the CORRECT lamp only.
