Just wondering if the were any super 8 releases containing songs by The Andrews Sisters. I would love to have them on film. I think they appeared in some Abbott and Costello films. Did any songs make it to super 8?

There is a Disney cartoon called "Little Toot" which is sung by the Andrews Sisters. It is an extract from "Melody Time".

Yes. The film "Private Buckaroo" was released in its entirety by NILES back in the late 70's for around $150. Also, THUNDERBIRD released an Abbott & Costello trailer reel within which they appear very briefly. That's the only Super 8 footage I know of Patty, Maxine & Laverne. All else is strictly 16mm from CASTLE as soundies (music excerpts from the A&C features).

Brad's right (ya beat me to the punch Brad!). This always had the "feel" of an A&C vehicle, as they are the only ones missing, (even Shemp Howard of the three stooges is in it, who was also a co-star in many o the best A&C films). Some great song's in the film as well. I can't vouch for the print quality.

Thanks guys. Pity they didn't release any stand alone shorts on super 8. Perhaps I'll look out for some 16mm soundies.

I believe they are briefly seen in A&C In the Navy 400' from U8 also.

I had the pleasure of working with Maxine Andrews back in the early 80's. What a lovely woman. She had alot of great stories about the good 'ole days at Universal Studios.
