Going through some films recently acquired I came across a 600' box with "Dad's Army" on its spine.
No identification on its leader or any introductory titling, straight into a gentleman speaking at a lectern.
Only later did I return to examine it further when I found it was the pilot and first episode of the BBC TV series from July 1968.
Who released this standard 8 sound film, and were any issued on Super 8?

That must be a genuine rarity, I have never heard of Dad's Army on 8mm before. Wonder if any more appeared?

That does sound rare, especially on 8mm.

I remember this item being available in one of the many film hire libraries that were operating in the 1970's. Sorry I can't recall which particular company offered it but it was available in standard 8mm only.

If I remember rightly there were 2 or 3 Dads Army episodes with optical sound, I suspect these were done for a British Airline, but they do crop up from time to time.
