I have a beautiful 'Like New' Elmo ST-180E...but it has a loud film clatter in the area of the first sprocket where it feeds into the projector and periodically the picture shakes. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi James,
Two thoughts:
a) Have you checked to make sure there are no pieces of ilm stuck in first sprocket area? I use compressed air quite often to make sure paths are all clear.
b) The springy pressure plate behind the lens area sometimes gets old and less springy on these. it is hard to notice by eye, but i know some who have changed these springs have found that the film stays against the gate better.
c) Is the film you are feeding through in good shape?i.e. sprocket holes undamaged?
Just some thoughts...
Cheers,
Matt
ps: That is a great little machine! I have one as well.
