Hello to all

I have bought a super 8 film from I.E.International, unopened till today. When i opened it, i saw on the film some, i don't know, oxidation spots? Does anyone know how this comes? Do i have to do something with this film before treading it trough the projector, or is it not "harmful"? [Wink] Just to avoid a bad end [Wink]

Thank you!!!

Nick

Nick. I'd unwind it and have a closer look. A picture might help to determine what it is. I did just wonder if it had been affected by damp.

That's quite curious. I've had that "bronze" looking spotting on some old Blackhawk silents that i actually get a slight kick out of ...

... but what that reel looks like it's suffering from is "film leprosy"! [Eek!]

I've never actually seen that specific thing before, i hope that the film isn't being eaten away or anything like that.

I wonder if it has been kept in damp conditions for a length of time? Perhaps a day in the fresh open air followed by a good clean with film cleaner may help.

Any other suggestions folks?
