Does anyone know if this site is reputable? I hate ordering off dotcoms unless I know some people have had good experiences.

If they keep discontinuing bulbs, this could be the demise of our hobby.

Hi guys and gals,
I'm new to this site. I've been collecting films since 1976 when I was 11 years old. Is it true that DNE bulbs have been discontinued? Where did you hear this? What are they going to do with all the projectors that use these bulbs? Is there going to be a replacement made that we can use?

Hi Jeff, bulbs often utilized in vintage 8mm/16mm film projectors are currently utilized in the medical/dental field with various equipment. However, as everything is becoming LED compatible, bulbs get disconinued due to lack of demand. The lighting industry couldn't care less about the iminent obsolesence of vintage movie equipment. So, yes, unfortunately, as bulbs become no longer available our hobby will be a non-topic. Sad. I love this hobby and because I don't possess the skill-set to re-wire a projector to accomodate a more current light source my projectors are destined for the recycling plant someday.
