I Just purchased some Pec-12 and Pec pads and also have some FilmGaurd on the way. Does anyone know if the Pec-12 is okay to use on Magnetic sound films, or should I wait for the FilmGuard?

Burton,
Wait for the FilmGuard! It's safe on magnetic sound film. Pec-12 can be dangerous and is also flammable... [Eek!]

Talking of filmgurd, can you still get the large bottles? [Wink]

Have to say we have used this for many years now & as long as its not over applied, (as indeed i did in the early days), its probably one of, if not, the best. [Wink]

FilmGuard not only cleans film but lubricates as well. You only need a small amount to treat film and you can tell the difference running a film. One supplier reckons that 20 50' reels ie 1,000' can be treated with just 10 ml.

A 3 hour 35mm film print can be properly cleaned with 1 ounce (about 30ml) of FilmGuard.
