Hello all- just acquired the 400' versions of several classic Universal monster flicks (Frankenstein, Dracula, and The Wolf Man to be precise).

Are there any differences in footage from the old Castle 200 footers and the later 400 footers Universal released?

Thanks as always!

It depends on the title; the 400 footer of Dracula has the Castle 200 footer as its second half. Frankenstein is reworked to expand key sequences. There are moments in the 200' version of The Mummy that are not included in the 400' cut. Some of the print reviews on this forum compare both versions and members have taken on listing the content of each digest in great detail. I have used the Print Review section many times in order to help determine if I want a particular title and am always amazed at the effort put out by our generous forum members.

Hi Chad. Search "The Mummy 400" and you will find a number of threads detailing the differences in Castle 200' and Universal 8 400' edits of Universal monster films.
