Hello friends, I received a question I can't answer , a member here asked me the following : There seem to be 3 generations of GS1200 , which one do I sell ? Here;s the link to my eBay sale, I know mine is as it came from the manufacturer , no changes are or were made , is as good as coming from the window of a photo shop , kind regards, Gilbert http://www.ebay.fr/itm/142458923425?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Bonjour Gilbert,

Je ne suis pas specialiste du GS1200 mais ce projecteur semble etre une des derniere "generation" (la manette de ratrappage boucle est orientée vers l'arriere, peut etre MK3 ?).

I am not a GS1200 specialist but it looks like a last "generation" one (Loop former pointed backward, may be MK3 ?).

Anyone to confirm ?

Gilbert
See the link below which quoted serial numbers of the GS-1200 to various models.
However, I agree that your projector sounds like the Mark 3.

Thank you, to help or confirm your thinking the serial number is 827057 GS 1200 warmest regards, Gilbert

The usual way to determine a Mark 3 is the bottom film loop below the picture gate.
If the loop points to the rear (left), then it is considered to be the Mark 3.
The Mark 1 and the Mark 2 had forward (right) facing loops.

I was once told that if the loop points to the left it is either a Mk2 or Mk3. The way to tell the difference between them is whether the silver knobs have dots or slits on them. I was told those with Dots on the silver knobs (that control tone and volume) are Mk2 and the ones with slits/lines are Mk3. I guess the problem with using this method for determining the model, is that the knobs are easily swapped out.

I added new photos to the listing ... this could bring more details to help you determine the generation, kind regards, Gilbert

Gilbert's projector has dots on the knobs.

My GS-1200 has lines on the knobs and is serial number 832168, it has a rear facing loop and I was told that is a Mark 3.

From previous comments it may be that Gilbert's is a Mark 2, but that should not cloud the issue of selling his fine looking projector.
