Hi all, Was looking at this auction today and saw the invoice shown from 1978 that indicates to keep the paper receipt in order to use or qualify for the 'Blackhawk Film Exchange'.
Curious what this was all about? Does this mean a person could buy a film, watch it, and then, at some later date, send it back for a different film? What does exchange mean here? This sounds like library lending? Can someone educates us who has used this service. Thanx for the info.
ps: $29.00 for a 400' LH s8s BACK IN 1978 SOUNDS LIKE ABOUT $100 TODAY. wOW. That seems expensive for 1 film back then?

You could easily buy a house here for under £5000 back in 1979/80, even one with some land so £30 here at the time for a 400 was very serious.

That's right around the time I started buying films. I spent about $26 on my first film: a silent 200 footer. At that rate the Blackhawk price was kind of a bargain!
-suffice it to say: on the income of a high school kid I averaged about three or four films a year back then.
