Hello. I am new to alll of this and completely fascinated! I inherited a box of my parents old 8mm and Super 8 home movies. I recently purchased a B&H 10MS on ebay so I could see both formats. I replaced the motor belt as it was stretched and a bit gummy. The problem is when I play films of either format, they are very jumpy and the projector is very noisy in forward. When played in reverse, the picture is smooth and the projector itself sounds much quieter. The picture in forward on Super 8 seems less jumpy than on the standard 8mm. Does anyone have any experience with this? I thought maybe it was the large spring belt that drives the take up reel? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
