Hi all. I have only one Godzilla film on Super 8. A 200fter of "Destroy All Monsters" . Color and Sound. Can you gents tell me what else is there on Godzilla with color and sound? (Not including the original which is B&W)
And if you have any..wanna part with it? [Smile]

Alan,

In addition to "Destroy All Monsters", Ken Films released two 200'/50' excerpts (B&W, silent, scope!) from "Ghidrah, The Three Headed Monster." They also had a silent version of "Godzilla vs. The Thing". For a short time, Red Fox distributed a full length color/sound/flat print of "Ghidrah", which I have. It's a bit grainy but the color is still ok.

The German company UFA had a few Godzilla films in the 2x400' color/sound format. "Schreckenskampf der Giganten" & "Frankensteins Kampf gegen die Teufelsmonster" are parts 1 & 2 of "Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster". "Frankensteins Hollenbrut" is "Godzilla vs. Gigan." Andreas has mentioned that there are German digest versions of "King Kong vs. Godzilla" and "Son of Godzilla", but you'll have to wait in line.......I asked him first!
Classic also has the full length US version (with the added Raymond Burr footage) of the original film.

Wow! I never knew that Red Fox had "Ghidrah". Sounds great. And the german ones..even better. Now I know what to look for!

Alan, just for your information, there's an abridged version (not sure whether it's the US or Japanese cut) of the original Godzilla in 9.5mm.

Ged at Derann is also a huge Godzilla fan. During my visit there we bored Tony and Mike to tears discussing the king of the monsters.

I've got a copy of the full length 'Ghidrah, The Three Headed Monster' that I'm seriously considering selling. Mine is a Derann print from the time that they re-released some Red Fox titles, so it's probably a LPP print. I've also got a 3 x 400' Dutch release of 'King Kong Vs Godzilla' which has English sound. Not a great print but watchable. The same company put out a 400' from the same film that I used to have, which has different content to the 3 x 400'. There are some good Godzilla trailers on Super 8, I must have 5 or 6. I'd particularly recommend a 1980s Derann release with 3 scope trailers, 2 of which are Godzilla trailers.

Nice list!
Off the top of my head, other Toho 200's are Voyage into Space, Battle in Outer Space, Varan the Unbelievable.

Trailer-wise, the scope Monsters From an Unknown Planet is pretty spectacular. I think I have a second copy (if anyone's interested let me know) & look out for Bambi Meets Godzilla. The Ghidra 4 x 400' looks great too.

For some reason Godzilla is called King Kong and Frankenstein on the various German prints, even in his battle with King Kong (?).

Hello Jim,

that´s marketing ....., no it´s market-screaming of the german theatrical distributors in 70s.

That was a normal way to distribute trashmovies here. In the late 70s comes a lot of ZOMBIE-films in the german cinemas or on video in which no zombie is seen.

For example: The Manitou (US-Title) - first german cinema title "Der Manitou", reissued as "Superzombie - Die Geburt des Grauens" [Big Grin]

Same game with other characters:
"Scream and scream again", german title: "Die lebenden Leichen des Dr. Mabuse", but there is no Dr. Mabuse. [Big Grin]
(Dr. Mabuse was a famous character of movies by Fritz Lang).

Crazy Titles of films would be a topic for itself.

One of the funniest trailers I have seen on 8mm is the teaser trailer for the modern re-make of Godzilla with the two fishermen on the pier. Does anybody know who released it, saw it at the BFCC a few years back on the BIG screen.
