No Vidar, my prices are reasonable. All of the items in my auctions are weighed individually and set accordingly through ebay, which is usually spot on.

Postage to Norway would obviously be through the roof. [Roll Eyes]

I gotten movies 16mm and 8mm from US and UK ... They were not 50 dollars :-/

I was interested until I saw the total I had to pay ...

In my opinion, this is too high

I'm afraid i agree with the high postage cost......i have had 16mm and 8mm films from the USA to me in New Zealand for between US$8 and $18. And.......this isn't a personal attack........why do many traders on e-bay only offer the dearest postage available? Normal airmail is more the sufficent on films that aren't hundreds of $$$$$$.

It always puts me off bidding on these auctions!

Cheers,
Clinton

I have no idea what you folks are talking about, what film(s) in particular? Are you reading this part of the auction description:

"All international shipping will go out USPS Priority Mail International.

Buyers can request other forms of shipment and insurance before payment is made."

This means, international shipping is Priority. For example, last week I shipped a 4lbs 5 oz. 16mm film to the Ukraine for $54 Priority but, the buyer wanted it economy...there is no economy price at that weight unfortunately -- this is not a fault in my sanity friends.

So, obviously, if you read my auction description and you're interested in economy shipping (or money orders as payment -- which ebay does not allow) contact me before you make a payment. I'm usually open to all forms of payment and shipping. Your loss is someone else's gain. [Roll Eyes]

Hi Gerald,

Just want to help you on this side, you can use USPS flat rate envelope which can take until 4 lbs at the same rate (I guess now is $13.99) anywhere in the world.

My experience shows that this envelope can take 3 400' or 6 200' and they are still less than 4 lbs.

CMIIW, this shipment is traceable. This is what I got from Dwayne every time I processed and bought films from them.

Just adding to the confusion, the last two 16mm features I've
received from the States were in the $75.00-$85.00 for postage. So how does one get the seller to send them a cheaper method?

Hi Fellas,

Shipping is is very straight forward, in this particular case, I chose the field "Priority Mail International" and that's why shipping comes out higher than the field using a flat rate service like Win suggests.

I use all shipping methods so a buyer should always contact me to negotiate what choice he or she wants -- most who buy from me do. Shipping a 16mm feature (on reels) to the UK is typically about $80. I also ship on cores to reduce weight, that's one option to lower the costs but, most buyers want their prints ready to run.

At the end of it all, communication is key for a smooth and equally satisfying transaction for buyer and seller. Using the USPS to calculate a price and having a scale (which I do) helps to determine the best cost.

Well both Clinton and Vidar say 8mm and 16mm, if they wanted say a 400' short, that could fit into the flat rate envelope. I still don't know which films Vidar wanted.

So please, anyone can contact me about any films, I don't want any of you to miss out on any films that I'm offering, there are more to come -- hundreds of them on both 8mm and 16mm!

P.S. Many of my film friends have asked about a film catalog in the near future, well...it's coming but not for another year or two. It has to be really good and comparable to those Audio Brandon libraries. In the meantime enjoy the auctions, I'm tempted to start them at 99 cents so everyone has a chance to bid on something they really want. The shipping prices however, will stay the same. [Wink]

Hi Gerald,

saw the feature of Metropolis in the auctions.

So I have 3 questions:
Is it Super 8 or Standard 8mm ?
Is the text in english ?
Is it right, that this is the full feature ?

I'm very interested in it [Big Grin]

Keep perforated,
Michael

Hi Michael,

This is a Standard 8mm print with English inter-titles that runs approx. 100+ min. on 24 fps, I believe it's the 114 min. US 1927 cut, but I've not checked the timing, I only estimated based on the fullness of the reels.

I hope that helps!

Gerald
