Jaws is my fave film of all time, I have all the cut downs but does this exist as a full length print in 8mm or 16mm, if yes then does someone have one for sale?

Hy Phill,

Yes, JAWS exist in a full feature film.

It's a spanish version. I've got a print a couple of years ago, but sold now.

Here is a print of JAWS 2 on ebay:

http://www.ebay.es/itm/SUPER-8-MM-TIBURON-2-COLOR-CASTELLANO-6x-180-mt-/171574689148?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_186&hash=item27f2a5fd7c#ht_206wt_1400

Best regards,

JC.

I have seen Italian full length prints before now come up for sale Phillip, but never a later low fade print. All the ones I have seen for sale have been well used with lots of wear and with considerable amounts of fade which has always put me well off pursuing any of them.

I did get a lovely LPP extended trailer from a British collector in the not so distant past and it would be superb partnered up with the full feature if one existed as good.

Like all films of this era, there must be some decent low fade 16mm prints out there somewhere but I don't know of a later 8mm distributor of this film on low fade stock.

I have a print that has a tiny bit of fade but for the most part in very good condition with lots of great colors still. It has the titles in Spanish and has been re-recorded into English Stereo. I just got it a few months back but don't want to part with it yet. They are pretty rare.

Rik's print is the best one I have seen since being back in the hobby, so if he ever decides to part with it there is now a queue of at least 2 people waiting and wanting it! Ha ha [Wink] [Wink]

Sure it looks okay on Blu Ray, but it's not film. I still hate the sluggishness of the movements of digital

I'd love a print on 16mm of Jaws, but have not much hope of ever finding one

Hi Vidar only some Video projectors are sluggish.

Is yours DLP, I can`t remember.

Funnily enough I`ve often read that higher resolution projectors suffer from it more than XGA ones ( like mine ) or say 720p ones.

My old banger XGA Hitachi LCD one has no issues like that.

And the L + H dvds look wonderfully filmic.

Best Mark.

PS good LCD is usually much more filmic.

It's not the feature, but there are some very good color prints out there of the 2X400ft Digest by Universal 8 which, in my personal opinion, is one of the all-time best edited digests on super 8!

Mark, I use a BenQ W1300, but I see this on all digital. In the videma, on televisions and DLP's.

Quite happy with my 2x400' Widescreen (not scope)

Marks correct though Vidar, LCD smoothscreen looks far better than DLP to most for HC use. LCOS is also good I believe.

I Always thought a good 600 footer Digest would have been much better than the many 400 footers, but oddly they often left out 3 or 4 minutes they could have used on those anyway ???

I agree Vidar a 2 x 400 is much more fun than on video but even a modest LCD XGA projector like mine is brilliant for films you just can`t get.

Also there are a lot of very good and a lot of very subtle good scenes in Jaws you miss on the 2 x 400 so its worth having it on BR as well.

The Zulu Blu Ray will blow your socks clean out of the window, shame Derann never sneakied that one out !!!! in the post 1982 years.

Best Mark.

I had the Steelbook of Jaws, but traded it when I bought the Steven Spielberg Collection which has Jaws in the same state as the Steelbook. I know I am about the only one noticing the jerkyness, apparantlu anyway. I've yet to see a TV, Videma og projector not being sluggish. Any my BenQ W1300 gets quite good reviews

For me, film will always be livelier than digital. I so look forward to being able to see film in the cinema again in January ... 70mm with Lawrence of Arabia and Interstellar on the same day. Will be awesome

Alan that looks like a nice print your lucky to have such a rarity. I just bought a 35mm print unfortunately very little color left, razor sharp but the lack of color bothers me.
Vidar you have a nice find as well. I could watch this movie over and over again.

I`m surprised with Blu Ray and Hi Def etc they don`t shoot more on 70mm, as Blu Rays etc from it are amazing.

Definately looks better than just Hi Def digital.

Best Mark.

Well, one of the things that caused them to turn digital is price of shooting film :-)

70mm is crazy expensive, but then again, pay for quality, it's simply the best with 35mm a good second.

And even so, Jaws is from 35mm isn't it or am I mistaken? I was sure that was 35mm

I have Jaws on every format, bluray, DVD, VHS and digital, I also have plenty of Jaws merchandise and books, I would love a full length print of it to complete my collection. It's a shame Steve Osborn or CHC can't produce a print of this. I think it would sell quite well. I would buy it. On another topic I am thinking of buying a mute print of The empire strikes back, is there anyone out there that could record a stereo soundtrack on it and how much would it cost?

Once again, if I may add this to the discussion, film and digital are two different things. I personnally prefer a real projection with lines and other imperfections than any digital projection whatever the quality is.

Then there's two of us Mr. De Bast. I enjoy even a red print more than the digital ones

I wouldn't mind finding the JAWS 2 Scope 400ft digest! I had the flat version for a little while and the edit was pretty good.
