Hi All,
thankfully, i do very little splicing....
but there are enough issues where i have to do some here and there.... I use the kodak presstape machine currently as some others here as well. I know of the other methods such as ciro-guilotine and cement....I may upgrade soon.
I am finding shipping is killing me everytime. I mean, presstape is as large and heavy as a feather, yet shipping for any amount starts at over $20US minimum. So naturally, i think to buy enough to make it worth while, but price doubles, triples and i am left looking at an ebay cart of 40 splices of presstape shipped to me for $75US all in. Unbelievable, i know.
Try it yourself people. Pick any presstape from ebay, use my postal code from Canada L9B1L3 and see what i am saying....
Does anyone know of a better source for me to get supplies with reasonable shipping?? Price is not an issue for me, but principle is!
Or, if anyone has extra super 8 presstape(NEW not NOS) they can sent to me in a proper envelope, i would be very thankful. I also need a 50' reel of 8mm(not super) leader(white)...I use paypal and pay immediately.
