Jeroen, what size are you looking? Usually for full feature it is 600'. As far as I know, Derann did not make any reels. It used reels from open market (Gepe, Posso or sort of).

Anyway I have them. You can send me a pm at winbert (at) hotmail (dot) com

Derann did have a contract with someone in Italy that made their
spools for them.

Hugh, that might be true. In this case must be Posso. But did the contract was about to make custom order for Derann or just to supply them with certain numbers every period?

If it was custom made reels, which come with Derann logo, I don't have it. But if it is only regular Posso 600' reels, then I have some.

Hugh, did you ever find reel with "Derann" logo?

Hi Winbert,no Dfs didn't logo their spools, Derek was having
difficulty getting 600' spools,so he knew someone in Italy
who would make them for him.All this was covered in their
newsletters at the time, which is why some films had different
spools.

Jeroen,

As I said above, I have several 180 mt spools from Derann. They used for all Disney films that I now have spliced together onto 1200' reels.

If you want them, please email me at winbert (at) hotmail (dot) com.

thanks

I received all my Derann features on horrible black spools. They were truly awful quality with sharp edges and no threading slot. I would always re-spool Derann films onto the high quality Bonum reels and throw the Derann reels where they belonged- in the trash can!
