This price is a STEAL for this machine with all these goodies!
I wish I didn't have one myself, because i didn't get all the other bells and whistles and probably paid the same price. This is a better deal....Somebody really should get this soon!
Cheers,
Matt

I sold mine Mathew last year for this price with an f1.1 lens fitted to it.

It's about the right price I'd say for a decent Mag/Opt HD.

Not everyone is fan of these here in the UK due to their inherent scratch problems as they age.

Thanks for the tip, Andrew...

If I ever visit the UK I'll leave my ST-1200 here where they don't scratch films!

Seriously though Steve, You've done well if you've found one that doesnt...ever.

None of the decent ones I've had do it in any singular place to give you even a clue of the cause, just totally at random and in any random area of the frame and usually when you're least expecting it despite surgical standards of hygiene in and around the film path.

I'm far from being alone in my experiences and a certain type of film scratch (the type David Roberts spoke of) was even named after the brand of projector.

You're also doing well with it then Dominique.
Perhaps your model is a very little used one?

Andrew,

Mr. Guest may be too polite to mention it, but being critical of a projector model in the very same thread where he is selling one would certainly upset me. I know this wasn't your intention, however it could discourage prospective buyers.

Still a popular machine today the ST1200 and had a few in my time which were nice and a sensible size to handle with a rugged not to be overlooked motor. With our Bill having checked it over it will be a good buy for someone. [Cool]

Yes fair comment Doug.I can see what you're saying but nothing intended.

All machines have plusses and minuses I've found, and plenty of people here and overseas absolutely love the Elmo GS1200 and ST1200 range.

The comment was just part of an explanation as to why, based on my own experiences of selling one of these in recent times, that this is the absolute correct price to pitch these machines at as they have fans and loyal followers of them, just in the same way some people wouldn't have one ever again.

Nothing I, or anyone else says about these or any other machines will affect David's sale. People have their own minds, experiences and likes/dislikes with any machine.

Lee has said it all, just in the same way I did earlier.
If you buy any recently serviced example of any Elmo Bill has worked on, you know you will be getting a very good example of the model that should give you years of decent service.
Just look at his past testimonials!

thanks doug for you kind words you make this forum work well keeping checks on forum members comments .I no nothing about super 8 as I was brought up on 16mm my parents also had a cinema in the late 60s and early 70s so was well known to 35mm as well
my dad was collecting films for over 60 years which I have now added to my collection .I did ask him a question re films and projectors why did you collect 16mm and not any of the others his answer was 35mm was to bulky super 8 was to flimsy and 16mm was good picture quality and handy size

I cannot believe why this elmo did not sell when it was fully serviced by bill parsons I have seen plenty on ebay sell for more and not as good ,going to relist it. if it does not sell going to put it in a raffle at blackpool and sell tickets £1.00 each and winner takes the elmo .also 226 watchers

If I had to guess a reason why it would be the "No Shipping" clause. If you only have it listed for pickup/or if they arrange the courier, that will really diminish the potential list of buyers for that particular item. They would have to be local OR they would have to make a lengthy drive.
Also some of the pictures are a little blurry? It is a good price and the last one I had was really a great machine. Good luck! And ship it! It will sell for sure! [Smile]

Other information like lens details, specific details of work carried out by Bill, belt changes, does it have a shutter belt fitted, head and amp condition etc etc may also help David.

Things in the world of Super 8mm (cannot speak definitely for the other guages), are always a little slower at selling around this time of the year I've noticed.

People are generally thinking and saving for their summer holidays around this time rather than investing in anything home cinema.
Even digital projector sales are slow at this time of the year.

As Alan says, follow the advice he gives and with another 7 days of listing with extra info and pics, I am certain it will be snapped up David.

I stand by my original statement to Matthew regarding the price point for these nowadays but I have been surprised before.

re elmoi have been told by several people who have the same model that these are a good machine and worth well over 200 so on the bonus side having a intense service by bill , must be a bargain ,I can post at cost but not responsible if it get damaged but will pack it well in 2 boxes its on ebay

I am surprised at £200 no one took that one. These often sell at over 300 & yours has has a service from the best. [Confused]

They are expensive in France as well (I refer to my big neighbour market as Belgium's one is too small to compare with UK). On primeminster there is st 1200 for sale for 378.90 € and another one is advised at 450 euros on La bande des cinés' site. So, 200 pounds seem a good price for a serviced machine. Maybe the time of the year doesn't help : long sunny evenings and Holidays expenses.

David, I am in no way being negative here, i have just had a look at your listing and main title states very good cosmetic condition, everything else looks great but i'm wondering if anyone outside of our forum takes a first glance at it may think immediately that cosmetically its good but may not be mechanically sound so perhaps some people may not be reading the full listing.
If it doesn't sell on this occasions maybe replace with very good (or excellent) condition throughout & fully serviced.
Please do not think i am being critical, its just how i think some people may read it at first impressions.
Personally i am amazed it hasn't sold or at least have bids on it. As i said if i was looking for one i would have took your arm off, especially knowing Bill Parsons has serviced it.
