Are the SNT and SSL
Eiki pressure plates
interchangeable?

The SNT, which I own,
has a slight scratch
or rough spot in the chrome
on the sprocket side -
down by the notch area
and I was thinking
that it may be
worth replacing
before trying to
use rouge compound
to buff out the
minor imperfection?

The film shoe (the part you have the defect on) is not the same on both projectors (part 322-30121 [SNT] vs 322-30101 [SSL]]. The gate assembly closing is different on each machine which might account for that difference.

You could try it since I can't really tell what the difference is between the two and could only pull the gate from my ENT to look at since the SSLs are put away.

I think instead of rouge compound I'd try using a Dremel tool with a polishing wheel attachment to get rid of that imperfection. But of course, that's the mad scientist within me speaking, so... [Big Grin]

Jan,

You took the words
right out of my mouth,
and to think I was reading
your mind.

John,

Thank you for your reply,
at least I know now, that they
are different pressure plates.
