Has anyone had experience of using an ELC3 lamp in their 16mm projector?

Yes.
300-500 hours. Designed for long life disco use, the longer life brings a slightly reduced output in lumens.

best to stick with the well renown branded lamp as the manufactures recommend good bright lamps the others long life lamps are poor light like the super 8

yes light output is not good beast to use a1 259 I sell thses there are £7.99 each

All my projectors which use an ELC lamp (with one exception) have a LOW/HIGH setting for their lamps. As my home screen is less than 4 feet wide I only need to use the LOW setting for entirely acceptable use.

The one exception is my Elmo 16-F which only has the one lamp setting......ON! The light output is more than is really needed. Unfortunately the Elmo eats lamps, perhaps only giving a few hours use even with the voltage input set at 240 volts.

The ELC lamp has a quoted life of 50 hours. It has an output rating of 800 lumens, therefore we can assume that the LOW setting gives a 10% voltage reduction. Therefore the lumen output is probably 720.

The ELC3 lamp has a quoted life of 300 hours, and possibly slightly more. Its output is 550 lumens.

I am prepared to have a slightly reduced light on my screen in exchange for a longer lamp life.

I have ordered a pack of two ELC3 lamps and will report back to Members when I have had a chance to run the Elmo with the new lamp.

I am lost with lumens. They always change our references. The prices are now in euros and no longer in francs, the size of the screens are shown in inches instead of centimeters and the watts are replaced by lumens.

The lamps have arrived and whilst obviously not as bright as the normal lamp, the ELC3 is quite adequate for home use.
I hope they will last longer than those used previously. I only intend to use them in my Elmo 16-F which doesn't have a BRIGHT/DIM lamp setting.
