A few years ago I bought Hopscotch 16mm TV print. It had some swearwords in the original, but on this print it just went quiet. On closer inspection it had blooping tape over the optical track. When removed it was uncensored.

Anyone else found this?

Yes, I had a 16mm TV print of Outland that had exactly the same, very thin black tape over the optical track during expletives.

If you found blooping tape over the swears, consider yourself lucky. Later on, TV syndicators would later restrike the prints with the words edited out, and they could not be restored.

Some were redubbed for TV .. I have a gorgeous low fade of Body Heat...in which Mr. Hurt has a line , "wanna F...k?" In my print he says "wanna do it?". it's his voice just redubbed . There are a couple of instances of that in the print.

Only seen on TV but one of my my favourite comic redubs was in "White Mischief" a naked Jacqueline Pearce said "Doesn't any one want to f**k me" but the dub replaced f**k with Rodger which didn't correspond with her lip movements.
