My friend has a Elf ST-M3 and it plays fine in the forward position, but when he trys to play back in reverse it loses its loop and the picture starts jumping. Is there some thing he may be doing wrong? I am sure this projector was designed to play in reverse a steady picture. Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

From the description the projector sounds like a manual thread model.
It may help if the lower loop, where the film exits the gate, is made a little larger.

Thanks for your reply Maurice, yes your right it is a manual thread and I will give that a try..but it really does shrink the bottom and top loop when in reverse. I will let you know.
Thanks
John
