BLACKPOOL CELEBTRATES 30 YEARS AT THE TOP!
Making a very special appearance at this years Blackpool Sunday convention will be Academy award winner Norman Wanstall, who worked on, amongst other films, the first five 007 movies, and won an Oscar for his work on the film "Goldfinger" in 1965.
He will be giving a short talk on his work and bringing along his winning statuette for you to admire (and envy). You will also be able to purchase from a range of autographed photos.
This may be your only chance to have your picture with an Oscar. Don't miss it!
As this year sees the "Northern Film Collectors Convention" celebrate it's 30th anniversary I'm sure that there will be a special buzz and atmosphere!! The event will be held, as usual, at the Savoy Hotel. The Dates are the 18th & 19th of November. Saturday the 18th is the hugely popular, pre-convention dinner, with a four course evening meal, complete with raffle, on the spot prizes, a brain tickling movie quiz and a film show to end the evening.
Sunday the 19th is the date of the convention itself complete with a well filled dealer room offering a vast range of new and second hand film and equipment, a 160 seat cinema, in which our friend Bob Nicholls will show a varied programme of Super 8mm movies and a second cinema, equipped for special DVD programmes. The tried and trusted auction will be held in the main cinema and there is also the enlarged 'bring & buy' stand, now housed in it's own room.
The hotel will offer a range of sandwiches and hot snacks on the day and all this is yours for the entrace fee of £5.00 (which includes free entry into a prize raffle).

The BBC raided its children's TV archives for this 3 minute short as a five year old takes viewers through a multitude of different children's shows and interacts with characters like Muffin The Mule, Dougal, Noddy, Andy Pandy, Parsley, and Postman Pat to name just a few.
