Jan,
With multitudinous postings comes great responsibility. You must now send in a picture so your forum brethren can see the face behind the (many) words!

Just how does one go about getting one's picture up on the Forum, Doug? Need only Darth 8mm or Jedi Film Masters apply? Lowly yet vain, SGB

Good question (and thanks for reminding me, Scott) - AFAIK, one has to submit their picture via email to Brad Miller and he will put it up. But my question is, what is the maximum allowed image size? I'd like to make an avatar based on what kind of space I can work with...

Scott & Jan,
If you've got a digital picture of yourself, just email it to Brad (click the letter icon above any of his postings) and list your full name and "8mm forum" in the text of the email and Mr. Miller will take care of it from there. Jan, you can send in any size and Brad will hammer and saw away at it till it fits. Are you listening, Tony?

But I don't WANT him to hammer & saw away at it! I want it put up exactly the way I send it in, with absolutely NO resizing! ...Thus my question! ...Brad, are you listening?

The big question is, can Brad make me look thin? Failing that, can I send in a picture of the monster in "It! The Terror from Beyond Space" and pretend that it's me? SGB

Heavens above!!! a pic of Jan
Look guys just send the pics to either myself or Doug and we will then get them sorted ready for Brad to put on the forum. This is what I did for Trevor last week.
It's great to be able to doctor the pics first

Well, judging from your avatar and that of other users around here, it seems height is variable but width is always 110 pixels... so I'll use that as a reference for making my own image. Just wait, guys... when it shows up you'll all be like "Now why didn't I think of that!!"

Doug, it is a great movie, isn't it? I was hoping that someone would recognize the quote. I fear that it is too long, however. All of my posts look awkward and unwieldy (and I know that it's not just my prose). I've got to come up with something more economical that still manages to convey the magnitude of my 50s sci-fi geekiness. Suggestions are welcome! SGB

Yup, 110 pixels wide is the size guideline (assuming it isn't ridiculously tall). Just make sure your face is easily seen please and that it isn't a shot of you at a football game...showing the ENTIRE stadium!
Anyway, I know my 'mug shot' has been slow in the coming... 's been a long and hard week at work, and one wants to be clean-shaven and showered, too, before being seen by every film buff in the world... so... bear with me
