As old '07 leaves us,
We bid it fond farewell,
With memories of screenings,
And films we'd buy and sell.

The next year has an omen,
Unlike the year above;
For 8's the very number
Of the little gauge we love.

Let's keep the reels a-rollin'
And let us wish and hope,

I understand your intent by using the word OMEN,
and not to sound superstitious, however
the word Omen and ominous is defined as
threatening and evil.

The positive substitution of the word omen to your verse
is auspicious, and defined as favorable, promising and rosy.

"The next year is auspicious,
unlike the year above;"

Let's leave the Omen to Damian, and 20th Century Fox.
