Hi all,

These last two weeks I was so busy to take my wife for her teeth problem. After seeing a Dentist (general practitioner), she referred my wife to see a specialist Dentist (Endodontic) for doing a root canal.

The Endodontist made a preliminary treatment (cost almost $500) and finally scheduled her for a root canal. I was given an estimation for the treatment and was really shocked with the amount.

It was $1250 alone for a root canal not to count the cost of post treatment after the root canal is done.

I don't have any way to avoid, especially after making tens of calls to other dentists, the cost was just similar.

When I was leaving the dentist's clinic I found so many patients were lining up.

I talked to my self, just take one patient to cover my hobby, every day I could buy one full feature from CHC (or Derann) ..... [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

So any of you a dentist (or laywer) here? and how many full feature are in your collection? [Wink]

I have my teeth done by Dental Students at Plymouth University. I am half way through a "Root Canal" procedure... time so far 30 minutes. Remainder will take less than an hour. Total X rays.. 2.
Cost.... absolutely NOTHING.

We have so many stories of "slightly" dishonest, expensive dentists in our area, don't get me started. It seems like literally HALF of them are scammers by virtue of overcharging or doing unnecessary work (which is overcharged).

Winbert, ask everyone you know there if they know an honest dentist and shop this around.

It cost me 300.00 to get a tooth pulled here in USA. Rediculous.

Hey! That's what I used to do in Portland Oregon! There is a dental college there and I used to get teeth pulled there and it was very affordable!

Dental students for routine work is a good and inexpensive way to go. However, I don't know if I would want them doing a root canal. They are, in fact, practicing on patients and a root canal gone bad could be pretty miserable.

They are supervised at EVERY stage by qualified dentists. I have complete confidence in the system... and I used to be PETRIFIED of the dentist's chair.

Mike,

This is one of the anomaly in this world.

When people with those professions can earn so much money but it is us, people with ordinary salary, who can afford to buy a brand new 7 minutes of Tom & Jerry film costing $40 !! [Big Grin]

Even those Dentists or Lawyers will say us crazy when spending that money for it!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
