George who? Lucas? Never heard of him. Looks like a great film,
and how about the trailer on S/8? Very well done.

Adam can you answer openly my questions here:

1. Are you going to release this on cinema or straight to video?
2. IMDB link shows it has been released last Dec 2012, is this correct?
3. Same thing from IMDB says the budget is $500. For the cost of tapes will be more fro that, any explanation?

cheers,

Hey Adam your film looks gret nice space effects. I made a film also about 10 years back . It is a Indian epic like Star Wars meets Lord of the Rings here is a preview on You Tube check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwnftCWDejQ Anyway it is not on Super 8 yet but I do have a trailer on 35MM. -

Thanks everyone for your comments.

Winbert, the film was shot on AVCHD so no tapes used. Only sdhc cards. It was shot entirely at my house. And when I say it cost me $500, it really did. But mostly because I had to pay for food and for some of the effect elements. Friends act for free! lol

Would love a super 8 trailer, but I'm sure it would be expensive!

Hi Adam

That was excellent, those special effects are as good if not better than some of the stuff I have watched at the cinema.

You have got a winner there [Smile]

I also looked at some of your "Slideshow 11", as I still take a few stills "35mm slides" and digital as well, so I was interested to see what you have done. It was all nicely presented with good music as well, and it certainly puts a lot more life back into the old stills, thats for sure [Smile] ...well done.

Graham.

Here's a question, if Adam can make a film like this, and it looks
to be a very polished production, for a few hundred dollars, it
certainly makes one wonder where the money goes on some
of the big space epics.it's a minor miracle when you see those ships in battle etc.Truly one in the eye for the big boys.
It just underlines the talent and skills on this forum, what with
Adams stunning effects,Timothy Ramzyks draughtsmanship and
sculpting skills,Larry Arpins stop motion and other folks on here,
indeed a veritable wealth of talent, where the hell did I go wrong.

Awesome job Adam! Is this going to be screened somewhere? I would love to check it out. Since we are neighbors you will have to let me know if it's going to show in this area....I'll be there!

Thanks guys! Bill, sadly no special screening. At least not on a big scale. Probably just have people over to my house and watch it in my theater. (Cover your ears guys) It will be projected digitally!

excellent space effects. it's not easy what you did, a noble effort.

" it certainly makes one wonder where the money goes on some
of the big space epics."

1/money grabbing producers and conglamerates that produce
2/overpaid actors and agents
3/overpaid technicians
4/overpaid distributors
5/overpaid directors
6/overpaid writers
7/reliance on special effects to tell story

Hey I guess you guys don't like India but Space epics, Anyway I like everything. No one commented on my film a labor of love on my part and first movie outing. Adam has more professional production value and did it all on computer I think? I had to make my costumes, sets, and go to India.

Laksmi, I think Ramayan looks VERY interesting! Sure, it lacks polish but the movie was clearly a labor of love as you say.

As for Adam's movie, it also looks interesting but does not really pull at me.

Well Adam's trailer sold me, I especially like the music, it really
compliments the visuals, and I detect a "Dark Star" sort of
atmosphere. Would there be a chance of a dvd release?

Adam, I’ve just taken a look at your trailer, it’s very impressive. Like Hugh, I particularly like your use of music, very atmospheric. The film looks great and the edit for the trailer is very sleek. I’d definitely be interested in seeing the full film.

It’s incredible to think that you have achieved that on such a small budget.

Well done.

Thanks guys! When the dvd is available I will let you know. Unfortunately, since I use music that is not cleared for use I cannot "sell" it to you. One of the pitfalls of making a movie on the cheap I guess. But then again it was only a project I did with some friends at my house and was never intended to be sold. Simply for the love of the craft.
