Hi guys,Could anyone tell me as I haven't used e-bay or paypal in a long time, and reading most of your comments relating to payment waiting times for paypal to process into the sellers account,is it a big problem now for sellers, as I wish to sell off some films now I havnt watched in donkeys years,or what other possibilities are there for overseas selling...Thanks Mike

Hello Michael, payment into accounts is usually instant. The only time I had a problem is when I had to return a faulty camera, and the seller found there was a problem every time he tried to refund payment. Everything was OK in the end.

The main gripe about Ebay seems to be the fees, 1st the listing fee, then the final valuation fee, and finally deductions by Paypal, which is also owned by Ebay.

Hi Mike

I have been using paypal for years. The fees are tolerable. I never had any problems. You should try posting them in the forum and save ebay fees.If you post them be sure to be very descriptive. For example, s8 or r8 , sound or silent, original box, condition of film, if color is faded, length and price etc. [Wink]

Good luck

Hi Michael, just put a price on your films that you're happy with,
and put the titles up,far better going to your fellow collectors.

Hi Guys, thanks for comments,I do use paypal for buying the odd thing or two now and again, but its been a long time since I used it when I SOLD items in order to receive payment,For this reason my query is do they with-hold the money for any length of time before passing it to the account of the seller..Mike

I believe money is only held up if you sell the item on eBay. Private PayPal transactions are instant.

new police under ebays buyer protection plan does hold the money until item is delivered and plus FB is left or up to 21 days. This applies to any sellers who's rating on their seller dashboard drops below unacceptable. If your rating stays in the acceptable it they do not hold the money. However, even the money that is held is used to pay shipping fees on the item. The balance is held until released.
