Another sad lost. The Avengers is one of my favourites. Btw, I didn't know he was living in the US.

If anyone were to ask me which actor had the largest effect on my life, that answer would be Patrick Macnee

Words cant adequately describe how much I admire his Style and Class .. ever since I first saw him on television playing John Steed in glorious B/W at the ripe old age of 4 years old ... and yes Emma was the first woman to steal my heart

Patrick Macnee, Robert Culp, Jimmy Doohan - I miss them all and they all made my life a MUCH better place

( and yes you can thank Scotty for all of my mechanical inclination, and therefore Film-O-Clean would not exist had he not )

RIP Steed.

Sad news indeed,

I have all 3 of the 3x400ft that Derann released of the Avengers episodes - I will screen them over the weekend as a tribute - he always came across as a true gentleman.

I think he had one of the most distinctive voices on British television, as well as being a very underrated actor, another stalwart of British TV sadly gone, but not forgotten.

One of the Sky channels was running numerous episodes of The Avengers today. One of Steed's foes was Christopher Lee [Frown]

Sad to miss this news until today. Always an enjoyable actor and a great one on occasion. He held the New Avengers together even when the scripts increasingly let him down. We salute you Patrick.

I was fortunately enough to see him some time ago as i found some 35mm outtakes (film rushes) that have not been seen in 44 years.

I think this is included on one of the recently released DVDs of the Avengers with Emma Peel. Some funny moments too.
