Its been amazing response when I posted this small short video we took when visiting Scotland back in 1992, onto a Facebook page last weekend in the town where we first took it. It was only ever to be something for ourselves, however I have been playing about with "Moviemaker" on Windows 10 and came up with this 6 minute short.

One interesting thing in that response, was from a lady who said at 1.15sec that was her in the buggy with her brother pushing it next to her dad [Smile]

....The world through the internet has certainly changed how we share information....great eh!

Very Nice, Graham!

If this was a particular Saturday in the summer of 1992, I may have been getting married 5 time zones away.

I hurt my back two weeks ago (not permanently...), just watching the caber toss still gives me a twinge!

We have a great Highlands festival upstate. It's at a ski resort trying to figure out what to do with itself until the snow comes back. Everybody that can manage a set of bagpipes goes, and they can have a couple of hundred of 'em together on the mountainside playing Amazing Grace.

Anyway Fyona who lives in Fort William sent me a link to her playing the bagpipes at this years 2016 games. Fyona plays for the Oban Pipe Band.....

My back will be fine as long as I stop falling off the roof and landing on it!

Compared to the day after it happened, I am practically an Olympic Athlete!

I usually go to the German Alps Festival up there. They have really great beer and...

and...???

..you have to be careful, there has been a lot of accidents with folk falling of ladders as well [Frown]

That beer festival sounds great idea,.."much safer".. [Cool]

Well if anyone feels like a ride on the last sea going paddle steamer sailing down the "Firth of Clyde", hop on board, with this last of our 1992 home videos. I am surprised the tapes have lasted this long...glad they did. [Smile]

Years ago I decided to store the original video tapes that I took with the camera, a few years ago I transferred the content to DVD-R just in case those tapes which were now 20 years old, were unable to be used.

Lately I thought I would place the content of the DVD-R into the computer and with the Moviemaker that comes with Windows 10 have a play around with them.

Although Moviemaker is fairly basic stuff I was surprised with what I could do with the video content. At times though I did get a wee bit confused as to what I was doing [Roll Eyes]

but with a bit of practice slowly got the hang of it....and I must add still learning [Smile]

Because of "Facebook" and the town in Scotland where all this stuff was taken long ago, I thought I would share some of it with them if they wanted to see it. I was very surprised at the reaction to the Games video in particular, as things had changed quite a bit over there in the last 24 years.

The internet has been an amazing place to share stuff that otherwise for the most part would have been forgotten

Over the weekend I put together "another one" using Moviemaker, this time using Yvonne digital camera showing extracts from a Super 8 Scope reel I ran over the weekend.

Anyway I will have to soon get out in the fresh air soon and away from the computer [Smile]

Silly me. I thought I was looking at a film transfer and not a video transfer. That said, it's good looking video.

I will have to upgrade this one taken a few years ago [Roll Eyes]

with a new video showing the platter etc is the planning stage, also a little one at the Heritage park showing the Westar doing its thing [Smile]

Well that was interesting, the short video showing the projector running a few Scope extracts on you-tube was blocked by Warner Bros as it breached Copyright, showing a 55 second worth screen shot taken with the video camera of The NeverEnding Story.

I still have in on Vimeo....no problem there [Smile]

Anyway I took it of you-tube and improved thing a "wee" bit, plus removing that particular extract and replacing it with some others. It was a good chance to tidy the video up a bit [Wink]

This movie is showing which is probably the first Flight (Test Flight, non commercial) for CONCORDE 001 with André Turca Test Pilot at work......

The scope extracts are awesome. I got a big kick out of "Super 8" on Super 8.
