Recently returned from Cinevent , the annual Columbus , Ohio film con.
It sure was nice seeing quite a few 8MM Forum members again .
I found ALL film formats available to purchase , and countless paper items , in all sizes , as well as rare and unique DVD's and Blu ray discs .
Their film program was just sensational ! All types of genres ( silent and sound )were represented . Why , even I contributed to the screenings with my 16mm copy of THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN .
Probably the COOLEST movies were the silent ones with an actual pianist playing the original score for the film !
I want to mention THE MONSTER BASH guys were there with their own screenings of classic horror / sci-fi films too !
Believe me , I came away with many " treasures " for my 16mm collection , as well as many lobby cards , 1-sheet posters and even glossy 8 X 10 photos , DVD's and 40 X 60 Card - stock posters .
It was a very classy hotel ( expensive ! ) , nice rooms and pleasant staff .
Next year I plan on contributing films again to their screenings AND help out Ron Adams from THE MONSTER BASH with his 2018 show.

SPECIAL THANKS TO : Shorty , Gary , Stu , Phillipe , Lou and his Dad for all the FUN we had hanging out !!!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
However , there was a " bummer " incident that probably cost someone their reputation -
" SON OF GHOUL " was caught stealing items from several dealers on Friday night in the dealer's room . Police were called , his vehicle searched , but nothing found . Event organizers booted him out and told him he could never return again to Cinevent . "
If anyone was there when this occurred , please add your facts to this post . I only witnessed him gathering his sale items up and exiting the convention area , as he pleaded with people proclaiming his innocents .

Had a wonderful time, as always, at Cinevent. Michael and the gang put on a great show and there was so much to buy, sell,swap and watch!!!!!!!!! (and steal, evidently) But it was a spectacular affair. And so many old friends were there!
