The biggest French rockstar Johnny Hallyday (many French singers in the '60 took Anglo-Saxon names) died after 58 years of carreer. French television stopped its programms and are at the moment giving a tribute on the two main channels.

Sorry to hear this - I didn't know about his exceptionally long career. He appeared on a few French Scopitones, one of which I own, so I'll run it as a tribute sometime. I note on IMDb that he did quite a bit of acting too.

Adrian, you may be interested to know that some French scopitones (over 80), including "Pour moi la vie va commencer" (Johnny Hallyday) were shot by a famous filmmaker Claude Lelouch. Johnny Hallyday originally intended to become an actor but the success he got in his singing career took most of his time.
