It was the last day today in Belgium for this service. I wonder if telegrams have disappeard in most of the countries. 9.000 telegrams have been sent this year (1.500.000 in 1980).

I'm sure they have in the UK. I left BT before the end, but I worked on transmission for international Telegraphs and business was dropping badly in the early 2000's. The building holding London's Telex and international telegram switches was closed a few years ago. Inland telegrams had been renamed Telemessages and delivered by normal post in the late 1980's.
