I try to post comments and get a notice about "flood protection". I follow the instructions and lose my post. Why? (I'll be surprised if this posts.)

Hi William its worth copying before you post it just in case.

Sure you know, right click, then click on copy.

And so on.

It can be a little awkward on here sometimes.

Best Mark.

William,

As I understand it, Flood Protection limits a member from posting within 30 seconds of their last post. You would have to type pretty quickly to get that notice! Please let me know if this is not the case.

Best Mark.

Wow its just done it to me now after the one tap.

William & Mark,

Thanks. I'll inquire about it.

Hi Doug, well its not such a big issue though.

Best Mark.

I really like the layout of the forum as it is.

Not as keen on the latest 16mmfilmtalk one really.

I've gotten it too and if you read the instructions that appear when this happens hitting the back button will erase your post but waiting 30 seconds and hitting the refresh button will allow your post to appear. [Smile]

Though I highly appreciate this forum, I must confess that I have been the vitim of this flood protection as well, and strangely enough, it's always on posts that take me awhile to type.

However, I have gotten past this annoyance by, before I actually post my comments, doing a "Ctrl + C" and then click "add reply"

When I do a post of any real complexity here I usually type it into Word first and then copy it over into the Forum.

This isn't because of Flood Protection, even if it helps. It's just I am pretty picky about what I write and if I dump it in here raw then the people reading it will get to see it evolve while I decide whether I should use a ":" or just start a new sentence or if it should be "while" or "since".

-nobody should have to see that!
