For a long time now I have found donsbulbs to be a superb reference site for lamps, even if his purchase prices were way over the top.
Today, I went there for a lamp alternative check to find the following statement :- "Don has retired and donsbulbs is permanently closed".
It would have nice if the site could have remained just for reference, but I assume that would have cost money to do.

I always thought it was a great site also. It has been down for at least a month. Replacementlightbulbs.com has a pretty good bulb/equipment cross reference.

I get to the archived site, but it seems search scripts are not held so cannot look up prices.

No, but direct links do work - such as the equipment lookup lists. Inconvenient, but all is not lost.

Dons used to get his bulbs from Interlight. www.interlight.biz
They are much cheaper and I now get mine from them.
